The HNA was established as a foundation in 2019. Even at its inception, the desire was expressed that the HNA foundation would grow into a democratic association with an elected board and in which each individual tenant and rental-home seeker has its own voice.
To this end, the HNA Association was established on 25 April 2023. Like the HNA Foundation, the Association HNA aims to:
- to promote the tangible and intangible interests of all tenants and rent-seekers in the municipality of Amsterdam;
- the Association is committed to ensuring sufficient affordable, sustainable, good-quality and future-proof housing casu quo for all Amsterdam tenants and house hunters; and
- the Association works hard for liveable neighbourhoods and living environments in the municipality of Amsterdam.
All Amsterdam tenants, house hunters and tenants’ organisations can become members. Ultimately, the HNA aims to be an association for individual members and rent-seekers only, in which every member has an equally important and equal voice.
On 1 January 2024, all activities of the HNA Foundation will transfer to the HNA Association.
